Prairie Retreat Farm is a part of a 600-acre family farming operation in eastern Linn County. We grow fruits (apples, blackberries, strawberries, and pears), vegetables (asparagus, sweet corn, and many other annual vegetables), perennial flowers and annual flowers. We preserve many different food products for our personal use all year long. We have a spinning flock of Shetland sheep and market their wool. We have an established prairie area surrounded by a wildlife buffer of wild plum and grey dogwood to protect quail, pheasant, and our pioneer heritage. Our farm has 600 acres of cropland durin ghte 2012 production year, equally divided between corn and soybean production.
