Trees Forever and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will hold a two day Stewards program for owners of small backyard forests of 2 to 15 acres. Classes will take place on Saturday, May 31 and Saturday, June 14; attending both classes is required. This will provide landowners instruction and hands-on experience on how to manage their forest to maximize its health and benefits. Topics about forest health, tree identification, managing insect and disease problems, forest stand improvement and much more. Each participant will be asked to spend 8 hours giving back to their community through volunteering, working with local tree groups and advocating for our tree health.
Cost- $30 per person or $50 per couple (lunch will be provided). Maximum of 30 people for program.
