Eco-Fest 2013: Good Green Fun! April 20th 10 AM – 6 PM
Cedar Rapids, IA- April 20th is the date for the 4th annual Eco-Fest in the New Bohemia District in Cedar Rapids. “Eco-Fest 2013 will be the premiere Earth Day event in Eastern Iowa” said Event Chair Jo Ann McNiel, and once again our theme is GOOD, GREEN FUN!
Yes, Eco-Fest is about being green, but it’s also about having fun and spending time with your friends and family! Eco-fest is about providing fun activities that also help us learn about ways to save energy (and money), be more aware of our day to day habits, like how much trash we throw away and if we recycle as much as we could be. Eco-Fest is all about co-creating a healthy, vibrant community – something each of us wants, not just those you might consider environmentalists says Mike Wyrick, event co-chair.
Eco-Fest is now supported by over 20 area arts and environmental organizations. “This year’s festival is centrally located around the New Bo City Market with activities at the market, CSPS, the Cherry Building, and a few other locations right along 3rd St. says Emy Sautter, event co-chair.
